Horizontal or vertical flip?
A horizontal flip mirrors the picture left to right, like a reflection in a mirror. It is the one you need to fix a selfie that was saved mirrored or to make a design face the other way.
A vertical flip turns the picture upside-down in a mirror image: the top becomes the bottom, but left and right stay where they are. A vertical flip is different from rotating by 180°, which also swaps left and right.

Frequently asked questions
Are my photos uploaded to your server?
No. The conversion runs entirely inside your browser using your own device. Your files are never sent to us or to any third party, which is why it also works for private photos and large batches. Once the page has finished loading you can even switch off your internet connection and the tool keeps working.
What is the difference between flip and rotate?
Rotating turns the picture around. Flipping makes a mirror image of it. Rotating by 180° is the same as flipping both horizontally and vertically.
Is the quality kept?
JPG and WebP are saved again at 95% quality and PNG is lossless, so you will not see a difference.
