When does PNG to JPG make sense?
Photographs and screenshots with lots of gradients compress far better as JPG, often to a tenth of the PNG size. Flat graphics with sharp text or few colors, on the other hand, can look slightly fuzzy as JPG, and PNG may even be smaller for them.
Transparent PNGs
JPG has no transparency, so transparent pixels become white. If you need a different background color, add it in an editor before converting.

Are my photos uploaded to your server?
No. The conversion runs entirely inside your browser using your own device. Your files are never sent to us or to any third party, which is why it also works for private photos and large batches. Once the page has finished loading you can even switch off your internet connection and the tool keeps working.
How much smaller will the file be?
It depends on the content. Photos usually shrink by 70–90% at quality 85–90%. Simple graphics may shrink less or even grow.
