- 3Press Rotate, check the results, then download one file or a ZIP.
Why is my photo sideways?
Phones do not always rotate the picture itself. They save a small note (called EXIF orientation) that tells the viewer which way is up. Apps that read the note show the photo upright, but some websites, editors and print services ignore it and show the picture sideways.
This tool reads that note and then saves a picture whose pixels are really the right way up, so it looks correct everywhere.
Quality and file type
Rotating re-saves the picture. JPG and WebP are saved at very high quality (95%) and PNG stays lossless, so the difference is not visible. The file type is kept the same; HEIC and AVIF photos are saved as JPG.
Frequently asked questions
Are my photos uploaded to your server?
No. The conversion runs entirely inside your browser using your own device. Your files are never sent to us or to any third party, which is why it also works for private photos and large batches. Once the page has finished loading you can even switch off your internet connection and the tool keeps working.
Can I rotate by any angle, like 15 degrees?
Not yet. This tool rotates in 90° steps and 180°, which covers fixing sideways and upside-down pictures without cutting off any corners.
Does rotating reduce the quality?
Slightly for JPG and WebP because the picture is saved again, but at 95% quality it is not noticeable. PNG has no loss at all.
Can I also mirror the picture?
Yes. Use the flip buttons next to the rotate buttons, or open the Flip Image page.
