Pixels or percent?

Use pixels when a site or form tells you the size it wants. With 'Keep aspect ratio' on, each picture is scaled to fit inside the width and height you enter (leave one empty to set only the other). Turn it off to get exactly the size you typed, which stretches the picture. Pictures are only shrunk unless you tick 'Allow enlarging'.

Use percent when you just want everything smaller by the same amount, for example 50% to halve both width and height (which makes the file roughly four times lighter).

Common sizes

1920 px wide fits full-HD screens and most blog hero images. 1200 × 630 is the usual social sharing size. 1080 px suits Instagram posts, and 800 px is plenty for a picture inside an article.

Frequently asked questions

Are my photos uploaded to your server?

No. The conversion runs entirely inside your browser using your own device. Your files are never sent to us or to any third party, which is why it also works for private photos and large batches. Once the page has finished loading you can even switch off your internet connection and the tool keeps working.

Will it enlarge small images?

Only if you tick 'Allow enlarging' (or use a percentage above 100). Enlarging cannot add real detail, it only makes the picture softer.

Which format does the result have?

The same as the input (JPG stays JPG, PNG stays PNG, WebP stays WebP). HEIC and AVIF inputs are saved as JPG.
