What happens to transparency?
JPG cannot store transparency. Transparent areas of a WebP are filled with white during conversion. If you need to keep the transparent background, use WebP to PNG instead.

Are my photos uploaded to your server?
No. The conversion runs entirely inside your browser using your own device. Your files are never sent to us or to any third party, which is why it also works for private photos and large batches. Which quality setting should I use?
90% keeps the picture visually identical for most uses. Go down to 75–80% to get smaller files for web pages or email.
