What Shopee's guidelines say about product images
Shopee's Seller Education Hub sets out the image rules for Shopee Mall listings, updated in February 2026. For the cover image it asks for a plain, solid background (white is best) and a resolution of at least 500 × 500 pixels. The whole product should fit inside the frame without being cut off, and it should take up a large part of the picture. Other photos can show different angles, close-ups and models.
Shopee's own pages give slightly different figures for how much of the frame the product should fill: one page says between 50 and 80 percent, an older page says at least 60 percent. Check the current rule for your category in Seller Centre. These pages describe Shopee Mall, so regular sellers should confirm what applies to their shop.
How to prepare a Shopee product photo
- 1Add your photos. Drag in JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC files. You can add dozens at once.
- 2Keep the preset. It places each picture on a white square so the whole product stays in the frame. The default side is 1000 pixels, above Shopee's 500 pixel minimum. This is our suggestion, not a Shopee requirement, so change it if you prefer.
- 3Choose pad or crop. Pad keeps the entire picture on white. Crop fills the square and cuts the edges, so check that the product is not clipped.
- 4Check the quality. 85 percent keeps product photos sharp while keeping files light. Raise it for fine detail such as jewellery or fabric texture.
- 5Process and download. Take single files or all of them in one ZIP, then upload in Seller Centre.
Why this tool does not add frames or promotional text
Shopee Mall's cover-image guidelines say not to use self-made borders or frames, and to keep any text short and descriptive rather than promotional. A small combo banner is allowed only if it stays within 10 percent of the picture and does not cover the product. For that reason this page only resizes and tidies your picture. It does not add borders, badges or sale text. If you add your own, read the current rules first, because breaking them can get a listing rejected.
What this tool cannot check
The tool changes size, shape and file size. It cannot judge whether the product fills the right share of the frame, whether the background was plain in the first place, or whether the photo suits your category. We also could not find an official file-size or maximum-dimension limit on the pages we checked, so none is applied. If Seller Centre rejects a file, lower the side length or the quality and try again. Rules change, and this page was last checked against Shopee's pages on 10 October 2026.
Frequently asked questions
Are my photos uploaded to your server?
No. The conversion runs entirely inside your browser using your own device. Your files are never sent to us or to any third party, which is why it also works for private photos and large batches. Once the page has finished loading you can even switch off your internet connection and the tool keeps working.
What size should Shopee product photos be?
Shopee's guidelines ask for a cover image of at least 500 × 500 pixels on a plain background. This tool defaults to a 1000 × 1000 square, which is above the minimum, and lets you pick another size.
Should I pad or crop to a square?
Pad if you want the whole product to stay visible, which suits most cover photos. Crop only when the product sits in the middle and the edges are empty.
Can I process many photos at once?
Yes. Add as many as your device can handle, process them in one go and download everything as a ZIP.
Does it also work for other marketplaces?
The square, white-background result suits many marketplaces, but each has its own rules. See the Amazon and Shopify pages for their official specifications.
